Paraffin wax is a by-product of the petroleum industry, and has been used in candle-making for many years. Technically, it is not a true wax, but a substance which exhibits wax-like properties. It is not a renewable resource, so I prefer to work with the natural waxes, but there are certain techniques and types of candle for which it is still the best choice. It is still popular, as it has been so well tried and tested for candles.
I have a wide range of colours, sizes and shapes from which to choose, with prices starting at just £1.50. More details will appear here soon, but in the meantime, e-mail me to see what's in stock, or visit my stall at one of the Made on Islay Craft Markets. Candles can also be made to order at no extra cost.
