I'm Lesley Lutomski and I would like to welcome you to Webaflame - the only Web site I know which offers Web design services and hand-made candles.

I live in Port Ellen, on the Isle of Islay in the Hebrides, where it has long been considered normal for folk to have more than one occupation.  At first glance, Web design and candle-making may appear to be very different skills, but they have certain things in common.  Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by colours, shapes and patterns, and these are important considerations in both parts of my business.  When I'm not working, I enjoy hobbies including knitting and tatting (a form of lace making), again involving the use of colour and shape.

I am also intrigued by light, and the effect of light on colours.  Living on Islay, I am constantly aware of the changing natural light and the way the landscape seems to change in response.  Working with different types of candle wax has taught me that different waxes create different lights, with the flames from natural waxes tending to look “warmer” than those from paraffin wax.
